These lecture notes contain more–less verbatim what appears on the (black– or white–)board during the lectures.

The colour coding signifies the following: what is red is being defined. Blue are named theorems and statements (these could be referred to by these names). Finally green is used to reference lecture notes of other modules (mostly MATH1048 Linear Algebra I).

Acknowledgement

For the most part, these notes were designed and written by Dr Bernhard Koeck, and originally typed into \(\text{\LaTeX}\) by the undergraduate student Thomas Blundell–Hunter in summer 2011. They have been regularly updated to reflect the changes in the syllabus. The current version is a complete overhaul of the technical side of the notes, so that they are available also in html.
